In the middle of eighth grade, I had to make a decision on what high school I wanted to go to. I had two high schools I was allowed to go to, Buena or Foothill. At first I did not want to go to these schools, I wanted to go to St. Bonnie. St. Bonnie was too expensive, “like a car payment” as my parents said. Once I got a letter in the mail from Foothill announcing if I got accepted or not, I was worried that they wouldn’t take me. As I opened the letter and read that I got accepted in Foothill, I couldn’t turn them down.
I had two choices on what High Schools I could attend. One of them was Buena, and I never really wanted to go there. The other choice was Foothill, and I didn’t know much about this school, so I wasn’t sure I wanted to come here. I went to both of the orientations of the schools and just by that I wanted to come to Foothill instead of Buena. I got lost numerous times when I came to Foothill for the orientation, but once I think of it; Buena would had been a hundred times worse. Knowing the difference between the good education with bad, like Foothill vs. Buena was pretty wierd. Both of my older sisters went to Buena, and I always thought I would be going there too; luckily I didn't. (:
My parents supported me in any choice I made, which made things a bit easier; Although this decision was still extremely hard. I had to let go of many friends but I knew I would meet new friends at Foothill. My mind told me to go to Buena just as all my friends would tell me. They would always try to convince me to not go to the "nerd school". My heart told me to go to Foothill ever since the day of the orientation. After the orientation at Foothill, my parents told me that they liked Foothill way more then Buena, because of how the teachers interacted with the students, and how much more of a possibility going to College would be.
